Dear sailors,

for personal reasons we have decided to sell our boat Motomar 44 Aft Cabin „Nonoah“.

 

The boat is currently in the north of Norway, in Lofoten, where it has a permanent place in the port of Laukvik and continuously fulfils the contracted sailing program throughout northern Norway.

It is adapted to several types of use:

  • ski & sail – March and April, Lofoten

  • summer cruises: hiking, kayaking, diving, snorkelling … – June – August, Lofoten

  • whale watching and snorkelling with Orcas and Humpback whales – November and January (Skjervoy, Finnmark)

  • dive safari for wreck diving – Lofoten, Vestfjord and Hardangerfjord

  • long-distance voyages with high level of independence out of shore support

The boat is on sale from full commercial use with equipment and design with a high standard for use in the Arctic, with possibility of taking over commercial assets and infrastructure.

To do all this safely and comfortably, it has the following parameters and equipment:

Type:

  • Motomar 44 Aft Cabin – the boat is built by the Italian shipyard Motomar in a small series of civilian superstructures /on the hull of working boats (coast guard, pilot service …). This makes its base and cruising characteristics extremely robust, stable and reliable.

  • standard cruising speed: 7 kn, maximum speed 16 kn (generally not used)

Cabins and beds:

Kitchen:

  • gas 4 plate cooker

  • electric 2 plate cooker

  • 2 refrigerators (116 and 38 litres), freezer (40 litres)

  • two sinks

  • coffeemaker, toaster…

  • complete set of tableware

3 cabins / 8 beds:

  • back cabin: one double bed + one flip-up bed (full size), toilet/shower/sink

  • forward cabin: two separated beds + one flip-up bed (full size)

  • Portside cabin: two separated beds

  • forward toilet/shower/sink

  • storage 2 x 2 m

Nubmber of person on board in designed cruising area:

  • area B – II : 8 person

  • area C – III : 12 person

  • for commercial cruises in Norway: max 8 persosn on board

  • Registered in the Czech Republic, Ministry of Transportation, Naval dep.

  • Norwegian taxes and duties paid – custom cleared.
  • Manufactured 1979

Dimensions:

  • hull length: 13,5m

  • LOA (+ tender on Davits, anchors): 15,1m  (49,6 ft)

  • beam: 4,6 m,

  • max draught: 1,65 m

  • displacement: 18t empty / 23t fully loaded

Fuel tanks:

  • 3.000 l ( 4 x 750 l ) Tanks are standing design, they could be filled out of 80% (20% safety margin), real available fuel volume 2.400 l, cruising radius approx. 860 NM in standard conditions. All tanks are separated / possibly connected in various combinations.

Hull, material:

  • fiberglass; bottom and hull sides two-ply, deck and superstructure single-ply.

  • 2 collision bulkheads – 3 separate hull parts, 6 bilge pumps (3 automatic, 2 electric manually switched, one manual)

Engines:

  • 2 x GM Detroit Diesel, 6 cylinder / 8 l, 425 HP each.

  • Hydromechanics gearboxes, straight shafts

Steering system:

  • hydraulic, head steering in saloon, second steering on flybridge, autopilot

  • 2 rudders behind propellers

Anchor installation:

  • 2 separated installations,

    • 1 anchor 32 kg Bruce + 100 m of chain dia 10 mm

    • 1 anchor 33 kg Bruce + 60 m of chain dia 10 mm + 100 m of rope

    • control units on head steering position in saloon + handheld control units by winches.

Navigation instruments and equipment:

  • 1x PC with SW Transas w. separate GPS module

  • 1x PC with SW MaxSea Time Zero and Open CPN + o-charts w. separate GPS module

  • 1x Chart plotter Garmin w. separate GPS module

  • 5 monitors on head steering pos.

  • 1 monitor placed in skippers’ cabin

Heating:

  • 2 separate parallelly mounted water heaters 12 kW each, heating panels in all cabins + heating of fresh water. Heaters are usually used separately.

Drinking water:

  • 800l tank, combine warming either by heating unite while heating, or electric.

Electric installation:

  • 12 V – 4 independent battery banks: 440 Ah deck/service, 400 Ah starting, 80 Ah generator 6,5 kW starting, 110 Ah navigation instrument (UPS to Service bank)

  • both navigation and inside light in LED

  • forward and backward spot LED work lights 
  • forward and backward strong LED headlights

  • shore connection 230V w. alternative circuit brakers (4, 10, 16 A) for different parameters of shore plug.
  • 230 V in all cabins.
  • Generator Onan 6,5 kW diesel, placed in engine room
  • Generator 1kW Benzin, portable

Charging:

  • Victron 50 A charger, intelligent, divided outputs to bat. banks (new 2023)
  • 60A manual controlled charger (original installation, now used as spare charger)

Other equipment:

  • tender 3,2 m fiberglass + outboard engine Tohatsu 5 HP (both new 2018)

  • 2 inflatable kayaks (cap. 2 adults + 1 child each)

  • Benzin compressor for filling diving bottles (100 l/min), 6 diving bottles á 15 l steel – addition September 2024.

Speed, consumption:

  • the cruise takes place throughout our use in displacement mode at speed of 6,5 – 7 kn7*

  • consumption in this mode is in the range of 2,6 – 3,0 l/NM (15,6 – 16,5 l / hour at 6-7 kn and standard conditions)

  • In the case of a 7 kn displacement cruise, the engine RPM is approx. 1.100 rpm, propellers 1:3,2 = approx. 300 rpm
  • Consumption at speed over displacement hull speed (approx. over 7,5 kn) is many times higher, has never been tested

  • Diesel heating consumption in winter is averages 1,2 litres/hour to heat the entire boat. There is always only one source (12 kW) in operation, which works in an energy-saving mode at about 40% of the output)

History of use:

  • The boat was bought by us in 2018 in Italy, significantly retrofitted and gradually cruised to Norway
  • Estimated operating hours at the time of purchase according to the seller’s data = 1,800 Mth – cannot be proven with certainty
  • In our use cruised 8.400 NM for 1.400 Mth

  • Realistic estimate of operating time for the entire life of the boat = 5.000 Mth (according to available information on history and assessment of the technical condition)

Sales mode, price, terms:

  • The boat is currently in full deployment in the negotiated cruising program and its use will be in some extent continuing

  • It is possible during this time to come to visit the boat, make a test cruise and possibly start negotiating the sale

  • As soon as an agreement with a potential buyer is looming, we will stop further booking of the cruises and set a date for a possible takeover. Since our guests book their cruises in advance, it is necessary to count on a period of several months for the termination of our activities
  • The boat will be until the end of the 2024 for whale watching in northern Norway, then (probably at the end of July 2025) we will start cruising south to Hardangerfjord.
  • It is also possible to pass on a considerable number of contacts and links to anchorage opportunities outside tourist ports and public infrastructure in the Lofoten and Vesteralen areas, as well as in Skjervoy
  • The boat is registered in the SDIR Norwegian Commercial Vessel Registry under the foreign (nonNorwegian) flag and meets the requirements for commercial use in Norway. If you are interested in further commercial use, these links can also be passed on as well as the established system
  • The price of the boat will depend on the required scope – from a mere stand-alone boat to the handover of a complete commercial project. The basic price for the boat is 80,000 EUR (incl. VAT, cannot be deducted).
